Perennial with blue flowers

    This perennial plant has very attractive blue/purple flowers for most of the summer and into the fall. It reminds me of a yellow loosestrife in type, but the flowers are carried differently.
    I've looked at nurseries, checked gardening books, and searched on the internet, but still haven't been able to find out what its called. It's such a striking plant, so I'm feeling a bit foolish having to ask for help on this one.
