Perennial in Red Deer

    My daughter moved in to a house in Red Deer Alberta and these plants are coming up in the garden. Anyone know what they are?

    Pretty sure those are the leaves of hybrid Delphinium.

    Wonderful! Thanks, Daniel. I will tell her NOT to pull them out.
    This makes sense as I remember delphiniums growing gloriously and abundantly around the farmhouse of old friends of ours in that same area.

    My mother grew them in Manitoba, as well. Fond memories.

    You will need to stake these soon, otherwise they are liable to become falldowniums.
