There is an annual flower that blooms every spring under a Callistemon tree next to my house and I've always wondered what it's called. It grows about 8"-10" tall and the bloom is around 1"-2" across. I've never watered it during summer so it quickly dies in the valley heat.

    Any ideas?

    Edit: I meant perennial.

Sparaxis tricolor perhaps? If so then it's a perennial bulb.

    Re: Annual Flower

Wow, that was fast. That certainly looks like it. You are right, I misspoke when I said annual. It is a perennial.

    Thank you very much.
