These lesions are on a pear tree a friend inherited when she moved into a house in Vancouver BC. The fruit is also scarred but seems edible. There is an Asian pear right next to it which does not seem to be affected. What I'm trying to figure out is whether it's pear trellis rust or rust mite, so I can help her with control. The first picture is the top of the leaves while the second shows the lesions under the leaves.
    Thanks bunches!

It looks like Pear Trellis Rust to me. I had an Asian pear tree with a D'Anjou pear grafted onto it. Eventually, the D'Anjou graft was severely infected by the rust, but the Asian pear part of the tree wasn't.
