I have a pear tree approx. 6 years old it has produced fruit a couple of times blooms every year but no fruit in the last 3 years the tree is healthy what is the problem Harvey
Does it need a better pollination?? Liz Pear Pears are similar to apples, with the notable exception that pear blossoms are much less attractive to bees, due to lower sugar content than apple or contemporaneous wildflower nectar. Bees may abandon the pear blossoms to visit dandelions or a nearby apple orchard. From wikipedia
I wondered if polination may be the problem there is no apple archard close I alsso have a prune plum that is close and there are dadelions. What do you sugest I do for better poliination thanks Haevey
You may have a lack of bees when they are needed. Another method apparently is to cut branches from another apple or sweet type tree that is in blossom and place them in a jar with water at the foot of the tree and hopefully the bees will be there. Liz
