    Pear Tree Slugs(?)
I was handed a pear leaf with tiny slugs (?) all over it. Tiny - about 1/2 inch long. They are greenish brown and have a bulge at one end. Which end?-can't tell.

The tree is big and the slugs so numerous hunt and squish is out of the question. The damage is like that of a leaf miner - just a webing of leaf structure left. Could they be a form of leaf miner?

At this point in the year they are just helping defoliate the tree, but will they winter over and get an early start next year? Or do we just not worry about them? Any ideas would be helpful.
