I am trying to grow two of these - pawpaws, not papayas - in Vancouver near the ocean (about 5 km from the botanical garden). Is anyone growing them successfully in Vancouver? Failing that, in the lower mainland? Failing that, anywhere in BC? (Next step would be the entire PNW but I am sure they are grown in Oregon...)

I'd seen that but I assume that you are in a very different climatic zone from me. What sort of temp range do you experience? In my yard it might range from -12 C or so in the worst winter to +23 C or so in the best summer.

I am in Zone 5b, so the climate is not much different than yours. I think you are in 6b.
