Part 2: Identifying these Great Plants in Texas

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! While on my day off again, I took a some more pictures of plants, but I'm having trouble identifying a few. Can anyone help me out, and thank you in advance :)

m - Solanum sp.
n - Asclepias sp. Possibly Asclepias curassavica

 

Plant N is Mexican Milkweed - Asclepias curassavica.

 

Notice lively Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) on it. They are especially fond of the milkweeds.

 

L. Looks like sumpweed, Iva sp.

 

R. Tamarix

 

Q. maybe Vaccinium

P. Might be a cottonwood, Populus

 

I think you are right. Do you think it could be: Populus fremontii ssp. fremontii ?

 

Hey everyone. About to wrap things up with Identifications. I was wondering if anyone can help me out, and confirm these plant the others listed above:

P. Populus fremontii ssp. fremontii ?
R. Tamarix aphylla?
L. sumpweed, Iva sp.
Q. Vaccinium

P-plant does not look like Populus fremontii. The latter should have flat leaf blade with attenuated tip. The P-plant has leaves with rounded tips and curved surface. Unless this is a very sick plant, it is not P.f.

 

Ahh, so it is a cottonwood, Populus? How about the others above? Are those correct, or a little off?

 

Wouldn't say for sure, only as one of many possibilities.

Could be correct. The resolution and amount of details is insufficient to tell more that this.

O - Sedum (Autumn Joy type)
S - Miscanthus sinensis
R. Tamarix aphylla

O is not a Hylotelephium (formerly included in Sedum, Autumn Joy type)
