Is it OK to use paper that has coloured print ink on it for garden compost. I routinely shred all our paper, some of which has colour. Someone suggested this was not a good idea - any comments anyone?

I am assuming your in Vancouver, BC not Wash state. Here in the States all ink is supposed to be vegetable based and safe to compost, tho some worry about the colored inks.
I don't know the rules in Canada. You might call the entities that produce the papers and see if they can tell you what kind of ink they use. ;))
