Nice red. Maybe it's partly how it was photographed, the foliage behind looks deeply colored as well.
Every year I have a tiny fragile orange poppy that comes up in some of my pots. I am not sure where it came from as the only poppy seed I have ever had was some opium poppies and they have long gone. The flower is quiet small about the size when you put a thumb and fore finger together. Durgn Love the photos. I really am going to have to get one of the new fangled cameras. Liz

No I have never had them. This looks like a perfectly formed minature icelandic poppy but it is very small by comparison. I also have not had them here. Maybe it is a mutation from the opium poppies. Liz

My pictures were reviewed for Shirley Poppies.Papaver rhoeas (Shirley Poppy) Most bloomed well up to the middle of June approximately. It appears they prefer slightly cool weather to germinate.
