I was clearing sumac brush out of the junipers here in western Michigan and suddenly realized that I'm not 100 percent certain what poison Sumac looks like. I am EXTREMELY sensitive to poison ivy and was once hospitalized for it. I've had every fifth summer almost ruined at one point or another because I'm quite active outdoors and it's so hard to avoid.

I looked at dozens and dozens of photos online and am frankly unable to be certain. It's really annoying that no site gives any good descriptions of what is and what specifically ISN"T poision sumac. I can't tell if those stems are red or merely reddish dark brown, but they certainly are not green. They are bright green on the bottom side however. Are poison sumac stems red on both sides?

I've showered for an hour and wiped my body down with alcohol and laundered all of my clothes. I've retraced every footstep and handgrasp and wiped everything down with alcohol. PLEASE tell me it's all for naught.

Is the image code off because I'm new to the forum?

    Thanik you so much.

Agree that it's likely not poison sumac.

No, it is turned off for everyone -- it has a few advantages (slow connections don't have to wait for images to load, there are no untoward images swapped in by angry people who have had their images leached)
