Palms for northeast Alabama

    Are there any palm trees that will grow in northeast Alabama? I'm not sure of what zone I am in. I know several locals and a newly built motel has what looks like date palm growing very successfully, just not sure if they are date palms.
    banana trees, and many different tropical plants survive winters here.

    Rhapidophyllum hystrix, Trachycarpus fortunei. Possibly also Sabal minor, Serenoa repens, Sabal palmetto and Butia capitata.
