    Hi,

I recently bought a packet contianing 5 palmera fortunei seeds in Tenerife. I purchased them for my mum as a joke present and she is unsure of what to do with them. Meaning where to locate them, what care they need etc.
I have looked on the internet but i can only find spanish websites and this is no help as all i know is hola.

My mum has varios books on gardening and plants and what not but living in the uk, they are all for british plants so needless to say there is no information about palm trees.

    can anyone help??

Good luck! They are slow-growing (5-10 years to grow a metre), so it'll be a long time till your neighbours get p'd off!

But once the girth of the trunk maximizes, it's concievable for these to grow one to two feet of height per year. The Windmill Palm as it's known here in North America, is a staple in many gardens that seek an exotic look where winter temps are relatively mild with short infrequent cold spells.

    Cheers, LPN.
