Has anyone successfully grown a palm tree indoors and has left it growing indoors with no problems, besides a bamboo palm? if so what kind of palms? Thanks.

    Re: Palm Trees Indside?

The following palms have done well for me:
    • Chamaedorea elgans, Parlour Palm.
    • Chamaerops humilis, European Fan Palm.
    • Hyophorbe verschaffeltii, Spindle Palm. (*)
    • Rhapis excelsa, Lady Palm.
    • Trachycarpus fortunei, Windmill Palm.
    * Would have benefited from an increase in humidity.

I have had success growing indoors, Dypsis lutescens (Areca palm) 20 yrs and also a Chamaedorea elegans (Parlor palm) for at least 12.
People seem to have good luck with Howea Forsteriana (Kentia Palms) although I haven't owned this one, as of yet that is:)
There are a few more good indoor palms (maybe someone will list them) that are well suited for indoors as well.
