Palm of Some Sort

  1. Hello

I have had a Palm Tree that has been with me for years, even through a stint of leaving it outside when I lived in Whistler when I thought it was dead and being knocked over by a bear (I love that story). These days it seems to be growing "roots" at the top of the plant, between the leaves. What appears to look like a "root", looks almost like a worm, pinkish, but not to fear it is not a worm a it does not move. I am also concerned as many of the leaves are drying up and dieing. Does this mean that it is trying to root and that I should remove that branch from the tree as it is in distress?

Show it to somebody in your vicinity who can look at it in person. The adventitious roots don't mean anything, but too many leaves dying off would.
