I was told that the hardiness of all palms increases with age. When I was looking at ordering a needle palm and sabal minor from the below web site the sizes are 1, 3, or 7 gallon plants. Does anyone know just how much hardier the larger sizes would be as opposed to the smaller ones?

I think it isn't going to make it survive in Sudbury! It might make it handle a a zone colder , depending on the palm, and type of climate. Its the difference between able to handle light frost to heavy frosts. When someone says bigger they mean it has a trunk as opposed to something that hasn't got one yet. (not sure this helps)
