Paeonias from around the world are in bloom. All info I copied from wikipedia. The peony is named after Paeon, a physician to the gods who obtained the plant on Mount Olympus from the mother of Apollo. According to the legend, the peony needed to be left alone and punished those who try to move it by not flowering again for several years. Once established it blooms each year for decades(I like what in bold, maybe smart advise to everybody who has this plant in the garden) Paeonia mascula ssp. mascula. Paeonia mascula is native to China, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon and Israel Paeonia lutea var. ludlowii, this one is my favorite. Paeonia ludlowii is native to south eastern Tibet. Paeonia rockii is native to the mountains of Gansu and adjoining provinces(central China). It became the unofficial national flower of China following a nationwide referendum in 1994. Very large and bright flowers! Paeonia delavayi var. delavayi f. delavayi, near tunnel. Tall bush(up to 1.6m), flowers are smaller compare to rockii flowers Paeonia tenuifolia or fern leaf peony, native to the Caucasus Mountains, Romania and Serbia. The flowers are scented Paeonia anomala ssp. veitchii. Paeonia anomala is native to the Ural Mountains of Russia, the Pamir Mountains of Central Asia, the Mongolian Gobi Desert and the Tien Shan Mountains of Kazakhstan. The divided foliage turns orange in the fall, earning the species name "anomala" due to these unusual characteristics. I am sure there are more, but these are what I found
