I have had a 3 ft tall braided Pachira, it have 5 trunks and it has been doing well since I bought it. Just recently one of the sprouts on one of the trunks has lost all its leave they just turned a lighter shade of green maybe with a little brown and fell off; the other trunks look fine and have new growth. I water it once a week if the soil is dry and it sits in front of my sliding glass door and gets direct morning sun then filtered sunlight to shade the rest of the day. I just don't have any idea what is wrong with that one trunk or what I should do different so it doesn't die.

It's Pachira aquatica, most likely. Once a week watering is probably too little. You won't want to drown it or make it sit in water, but the soil should not be bone dry at any time.

Oh sorry I should have said that it was a Pachira glabra. But thank you for the response.
