I asked this question a few weeks ago, but no one seemed to know... anyway, I have planted some Oxalis deppei bulbs (about 6 weeks ago). Does anyone know when I can expect them to start growing? They are in a 6 inch pot, on my sunny south-facing windowsill.

I should think that you could see sprouts anytime. Dig around with your finger and see if there is any growth. I do think that they would so much better outside.

Well, I did dig around the bulbs, and they are firm, so I know they aren't rotten.

I got the plant last year, and kept it as a houseplant through the summer and fall. When growth started to slow, I let it dry and put it in a dark, cool place. Gave it a rest. 6 - 8 weeks ago, I divided the bulbs up, as the pot was totally filled with bulbs, and little soil. Kept the largest bulbs, and potted up about 25 of them back into a 6 inch pot. And nada since then. I would have thought they would sprout by now. Apparently they do just fine as houseplants, as long as you give them a rest such as I did. Or so the resources say anyway.

Thought I'd ask, as they are a not uncommon houseplant, again according to references. Maybe it is completely in character to sprout late?
