Need help to id this 'interesting plant', have noticed it growing in the Oakville area where i live for several years now.
It starts growing late spring and can reach up to 8 feet in height. In the fall it produces small circular spikey seed pods. In the late fall the plant is cut down to ground level.
The truck and branches are a dark burgandy red colour.
Each leaf has 10 points and grows to the size of a large dinner plate. Most plants have 8 to 10 leaves.
I have taken pictures to nurseries nearby and no one can id it and i haven't been able to find anything like it.
Does anyone know what this might be?
    Thanks so much.

Ricinus, all parts are highly poisonous, so I recommend you keep small children away from it.

    Thank you so much.
I was beginning to wonder if i was ever going to find out what it was. I'll be very careful with the seed pods. Thanks again.
