Now more than one year later I managed to get ID of this plant: ortiga = nettle Common Names in English: Scratchbush (Urera baccifera) http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Urera_baccifera http://zipcodezoo.com/Plants/U/Urera_baccifera/ http://www.sib.gov.ar/taxonomia/genero/Urera http://www.sib.gov.ar/taxonomia/genero/Urera Common Names in English: Flameberry http://zipcodezoo.com/Plants/U/Urera_caracasana/ http://jsa.revues.org/document2759.html "When the men return from a killing expedition, having caught or killed victims, there is great rejoicing. The men drink much chicha, then retire to their hammocks. The women then beat them with nettles (ortiga) until they fall asleep". The native guide inform me that nowadays is also use to discipline children. Help with definite scientific name would be greatly appreciated. Krystyna
