I planted 4 Crimson Glory ornamental grape vines this year. They have taken off quickly, however the leaves are brown around the edges and look a bit worse for wear. I'm not sure if I'm over or under watering or it may be windburn as we live on a hill. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi Bonny, Maybe you should add a picture, how much water do you give (or rain). There are many reasons for brown edges on the leaves. Give us a pic and maybe we can help. Cheers D
First year and even second year vines don't have nearly the resilience of an established planting, and can easily "get ahead of themselves". Any one of a number of stressers can then set them back, but usually more of a visual effect than a serious problem. Excess N (usually from fertilizing) can leave a heavy top overtaxing a relatively immature root system. You should still monitor and be prepared to react to any real issues. Ralph
