Hi all. I am looking for organic pick-your-own farms in the lower mainland area and am having a heck of a time with online searching. I was hoping that someone here might be able to point me in the right direction, or suggest a few places. With berry season coming up, I sure would like to get out and pick a bunch but would like to avoid chemical sprays if possible. Thanks for any tips!!
One place to start is the Certified Organic Associations of BC web site. There are regional searches available that list producers in various areas, though I have to say the search mechanism is really, really slow.
Thanks for the link. I had searched the site already and found lots of great sounding farms but none that came up under "pick-your-own" or "u-pick". I guess I will just have to call each one that has berries and see if they allow pickers.... If anyone else has info or experiences they can share, would love to hear them! I recently moved here from Ontario where I had my regular organic U-pick farms I frequented. Feeling a bit out of sorts with a routine here... :)
Here is a link for a website which lists a number of farms. Forstbauer Natural Food Farm located in Chilliwack offers pick-you-own produce. Perhaps you could give them a call to find out the details. Raakel
