Hibiscus syriacus, aka Rose of Sharon, or, possibly (given your location) a Hibiscus rosa-sinensis cultivar.
Habit indicates it is one of the perennial (herbaceous) hibiscus that die down during the winter. Probably a hybrid cultivar, with the divided foliage indicating involvement of H. coccineus . Orchids produce flowers with petal-like parts not all of the same size and shape in each flower, and with a little nub in the center instead of a long piece with a fuzzy section near the end.
