Moved it mate. This plant is going quite well in its position of bright light. It even gets an hour of full sun without damage. Ed
Here is an image of Spathiphyllum cannifolium growing like a weed in the GH. Looks like many other of the Spathiphyllums but is fairly rare, (or at least not seen too often in cultivation.)
On another note, I was at a local nursery today that has had a VERY large Philodendron cannifolium growing in the Greenhouse. I managed to get some pieces of it a few years ago, gave a few to friends and kept some for myself. Today, looked like they had chopped up the entire plant and should have 20-25 large plants rooted for sale in about a month. I was suprised because they were always stingy with the plant and it took alot of begging to get even a few cuttings, (at a fairly high price) several years back. The owner apparently got the plant from a visit to the Phillipines 40 years ago, or at least thats what the nursery workers tell me. At its largest the original plant had huge, swollen petioles that were at least 2.5-3 ft. long with another 3 ft. of paddle-like leaf.
The owner actually cut it up and rooted it. It forms a big clump from which you can divide it. Roots fairly easily.
