orange fungus on muscadine vine

    I have a nearly 6" x 6" patch of very slimy bright orange fungus looking stuff on the base on my muscadine vine. I haven't been able to find any pictures of this or description on the web, at least in regard to grape vines, and am not sure what it is.

    Anyone have an idea what this is, whether this is dangerous to the vine and how to treat it?
