I have a small orange tree that was outdoors all summer and came indoors in September. I pruned it back heavily a few months ago to remove a scale infestation - the tree is rebounding and looks very healthy, no scale visible. BUT a few days ago I noticed what look like small clumps of orange crystals along many of the branches. these seem to be mostly (but not exclusively) at the base of the leaves and spines. Colour is pale orange, the texture hard, not sticky, similar in shape to what hardened (crystalized) oozing sap might look like. Has any one seen this before? is it normal or sign of some kind of infestation or disease?
