one final tree ID

    here's the last tree I have (except for an apple tree, it's ID has become apparent). what is this annoying but nice smelling tree?

    Looks like Euonymus, maybe Euonymus bungeana. Why annoying ?

    I have bare dirt under it and these little things fall off and cover the ground.

    Agree with Euonymus bungeana.

    Note: slightly poisonous, don't eat the fruit (even though they can look fairly appetising when ripe!).
