oleander /rhododrendon

    last summer after i see flower of nerium oleander ,after see flower of rhododendron this winter i see leaves ,and after many days of osservation ,i have one question are this plants parent ? or have similar leaves and similar flowers?

    No connection except similar variegation. Notice that the oleander has leaves running up and down the stems, whereas with the rhododendron they are mostly bunched near the ends. Also see how the rhododendron sets large overwintering flower buds at the ends of the stems, and the oleander does not. Snip a shoot of one and hold it up next to the other to see other anatomical differences.
