Hey I'm sorta new in Canada - well 2 years new and for the first time I've had a chance to get out and check out the wildflowers in the area. Unfortunately, my friends are not very 'up' on them, so i was wondering if someone could advise me on a good pocket book that I can take out with me. Thanx Daniel for the re direction
Two books for you to investigate: Plants of Southern Interior British Columbia - very targeted, with entertaining stories and interesting anecdotes. Wildflowers of the Pacific Northwest - I'm reviewing this book for the Native Plant Society of BC for its next newsletter. It's a very enjoyable and handy book, but its scope is much larger than the above book. Also about twice the price. My suggestion - if you're looking for local, get the Plants of Southern Interior BC. If you plan to travel the province or Washington / Oregon / Calif., you'll find the other book a good investment.
