    hello all!
i was hoping to get some help in identifying an odd fungus/ mushroom growing in my houseplant.
i've had my kalanchoe for about three years now, in succulent formula soil, and normally keep it in cooler surroundings, but recently i moved to the waterfront. as a result of keeping my windows open, little bugs began to infest my kitchen, mostly around the soil in my plant. so i put plastic wrap around the base of my plant, all the way to the edge of the pot.
since it doesnt need watered often, i left it alone for a couple weeks. today i noticed a 2cm tall fungus(?) of some sort growing on the edge of the soil, away from the plant. its white and doesnt seem to have a stem and cap, but rather two single thick stalks, which are either fuzzy or spikey (havent touched it). attached is a picture of it.
any help is greatly appreciated! i'm curious if its edible or extremely poisonous or if i've somehow cultivated some rare and valuable plant matter...
    thanks!

Could you have an immature Leucocoprinus birnbaumii? Lets see how it develops and if it opens up in the next couple days. Please post pics if it changes!

i'll keep an eye on it, but it really does not look like it is any form of gilled mushroom. it looks more like little cacti, not a stalk and cap. i looked up pictures of young Leucocoprinus birnbaumii and they don't really look the same. thanks for the input though!
