    Hi All,
I just recently purchased one of those Oasis self-watering systems with a reservoir that delivers water through driplines. I was thinking that I could use it on vacation to water my potted maples. It is supposed to be used indoors, but it does say that if it's outdoors put it in a sheltered location so it won't get wet. I was wondering if anyone has tried one of these? I'm thinking of putting it on a deck that sits up about 12' off the ground where I have about 10 of my nicest trees (so I can see them from my kitchen window) and last year I had to drag them out to a central watering location when we went on a vacation. It would be great if I could just put this system under the eaves of the house and use it to water the maples on the deck. I saw it on Gardening by the Yard, when Paul James was talking about it. If you're not familiar with the unit their website is www.claber.com. Thanks for any input.

I have never used an Oasis system but I cannot see why it would not work. The indoor environment might be more uniform but this system should deliver moisture sufficient to keep your trees happy. I did not see the capacity of the reservoir of the unit. At the least you have time to experiment with it before Summer vacation time comes around.

The website does have an english version in the top right corner!!
