Well I thought best fruits were the Neolitsea sericea, just for being there. I'll propose two other best fruits: Daphniphyllum macropodum and Cotoneaster rotundifolius, because the fruits are so large. In the running for best colour was this group of Cotoneaster horizontalis var. perpusillus. And I have to include this group of Prunus 'Tai-haku', just because. Best rhododendron leaves, stems and buds were on the Rhododendron 'Ken Janeck'. We thought we were seeing new leaves on the Saxegothaea conspicua, in the Podocarpaceae family, but it seems that they're green seed cones. The Eucalyptus rubida had the best red stems. Nadia was so amazed by the variation in the leaf shapes on the one tree. We mentioned so many times that we were just assuming the ID of the Crataegus × grignonensis that Nadia posted, but we actually found the tag on it this time.
