I wonder how many Ginkgo biloba photos I'm allowed to post. It's so easy to get carried away with this tree.

The Meliosma pinnata on the plaza is quite yellow and still has its red berries.

[Edited 2012nov10]I was clearly mixing up two trees - this looks like Lindera, with yellow strangely-shaped leaves, though I didn't see any buds. I'm removing the bark photo.

I was hoping the Heptacodium miconioides would develop nice red sepals, but none of the ones I've seen are doing that, except for a very few instances, and they don't seem to have fruits.

It was a bit frosty this morning.

The Heptacodium colors better when and where it is warm.

Just one more Ginkgo biloba picture, I promise, from today. I had to go back to check some things, including making sure this yellow tree was really Lindera obtusiloba (yes, it is).

A reward for my troubles - we've been waiting forever for the fruits of the Euonymus carnosus to open. Finally, it looks like they're starting.

Yesterday's last photo was the frosty-looking lawn. Today's is a frosty-looking Rhododendron yakushimanum subsp. yakushimanum, but it's indumentum, not frost. This was at the end of a sunny day. I came across quite an extensive and interesting article on the Royal Horticultural Society "Trial of Rhododendron yakushimanum and hybrids".
