    Could be exciting. I once drove up there to see one presented at VanDusen, on the 1980 Sino-Canadian Botanical Expedition. Wonder if they ever got that deciduous magnolia identified? Looked similar to MM. dawsoniana and sargentiana in picture shown then.

    Don't think you need to do that ... Peter often visits your neck of the woods, Luddite (once every year or two). He has family somewhere in the area, I believe. The trick would be to contact him and see when he'll next be visiting (and if it works for him).

    A very well-attended and interesting seminar - 40 people (about 10 of these being staff).

    Glad the seminar was interesting.
    Thank you Daniel, for your advice re. Peter's occasional visits to the UK.
    Agree with Ron but want the pictures as well!!
