I have another issue with the "No-Mow May" concept. Since I mow my grass with a little manual reel lawnmower, a month's growth would be impossible to cut afterwards; at this time of year I can barely get a week's growth cut. I'd have to rent a power mower to get a month's growth done.

    Let alone the noise !
    And driving or hiring

we have a really sturdy (reel, no hydro or gas) made in NAm x yrs ago push mower for a decent level lawn

and you’re right — there is no way it could get thru soggy lush spring lawn

Gave up mowing the lawn several years ago. It is now steadily disappearing under a sea of flowers. Rather pretty :-)
