    okay I know it supposed to be about plants, but this hungry fella who will remain nameless was eating my roses.

    This guy doesn't appear to be one of the rose connoisseurs we typically meet. Is he a relative of the gypsy moth, which relishes Rosaceae? During two of the last five or so years, we really had high infestations of gypsy moth larvae, frankly raining down from the trees here in the woods.
