no one know what this is...please help

    Hi!
    We live in the boonies/woods of Maine and my daughters discovered this. So far, nobody knows what this is...do you?? I'm assuming it has gone to seed--what was/is it?? Sorry for the blurry pics. The "bulb" is about 2" in diameter and the base of hte stem is about 1" in diameter. Thanks!

  2. Immature fruit of an Arum Family (Araceae) plant, such as Arisaema triphylla (if that one grows in Maine). Check regional wildflower guides for plants in this Family.

    Looks like fruiting bodies of what we used to call Jack-in-the-pulpit in Canada, and seems to be knows as Lords and Ladies in UK.
