We've had an unusual spring in NJ. My dogwood trees (which usually don't bloom until early May) are in bloom now. However, the blooms are very sparse, and only 2 blossoms on my pink dogwoods. They have been great bloomers over the years. What happened? And what can I do to ensure this doesn't happen again?
The old wise grandpa told me that putting apple peels around the trunk will bring out the flowers. It does work, but do not know how it does it.
Start now, and continue once a month, and then make sure you give then a good dose in early spring. catburt
