  1. Hello,I live in the Detroit Michigan area & I have a 5ft tall fence, That I would like to add some type of climbing plant to.
I would like for it to grow quickly. But, Not so quick that I have to watch out for it damaging my vynial siding.

A friend of mine recommened some Viskminca (sp?) But, I have not been able to find any info on it.

    Any sugestions?

    Thank you

    Hi Blair,

One of my very favorite vines is the native honeysuckles. They don't take over the world either. Lonicera sempervirens 'Blanche Sandman' and Lonicera heckrottii 'Gold Flame' aka Gold Flame honeysuckle both bloom in my zone 7 garden from May until hard frost. Not all honeysuckles are rebloomers like these two. The Gold Flame is fragrant but variable, so if fragrance is important to you, purchase this one in bloom. They offer nectar to hummingbirds in the summer and berries to the birds in the winter.
