My roommate and I have historically not been good at caring for plants. For example, last year someone gave me a "Christmas Cactus" and i killed it in a matter of weeks. However, we both love having plants around so we are determined to care for our new plants properly. We've given them clever names, painted their pots, give them "special days" in the sunny kitchen window, talk to them and play music for them. But what I'm concerned with is the more practical care of these plants. One of them seems to be getting yellow leaves, and although we recently repotted her into a larger pot (her roots were being squished underneath her almost immediately after we broguht her home from the grocery store) I'm still concerned, since I don't usually do well with plants, I want to take care of any issues right away before things get worse. For all I know, this is a normal. Can anyone tell me what these plants are and does anyone have any tips for someone who is new to caring for plants properly? Thanks! Lindsey p.s. sorry if the pics aren't great. if you need better ones, let me know and i'll see what i can do!
1. Maranta, "Prayer Plant". 2. Dracaena marginata. 3. Schefflera. 4. False aralia (Dizygotheca.) 5. Croton (Codiaeum.)
Thanks so much! Does it make sense that the 'Prayer Plant' rolls up it leaves at night, and the leaves seem to change the direction they're pointing in sometimes?
