A neighbour sent me this photo of a weed she is seeing more and more of in her garden as I am in mine. We've never seen it in bloom but wonder if anyone might recognize it at this young stage.
I tried asking World flora: Identify - Pl@ntNet identify (plantnet.org). I had to save the photo to do the search. It gives 56% for Senecio sylvaticus L. Heath groundsel 2% for Jacobaea vulgaris Gaertn. Common Ragwort Less than 1% for Senecio lividus L. Groundsel I can't distinguish any of them based on the leaves.
There is definitely a strong similarity between our new weed and Senecio sylvaticus. Interesting, that when I looked at the distribution map on the World flora:Identify site, it shows only a few IDs for this area compared to dozens in Europe. Maybe its yet another newcomer trying to get its foot in the door.
