I recently found a neat fern-looking plant in the woods while camping. I am not a plant person but really thought this one was interesting. I would appreciate any help you can give identifying it. It was found in Illinois. It is hard to see the individual plants in the photos but it is a very thin, wiry, plant.

Horsetail (Equisetum sp.). A. arvense is apt to spread beneath the ground, and by spores, to make a nuisance of itself in farm fields and gardens. Hard to get rid of, about the only plant growing at the notoriously toxic Tacoma Smelter site.
