The Burke Museum in Seattle has announced the discovery of a new Type of Indian Paintbrush Castilleja victoria. It has been found near Victoria and on the western areas of the San Juan Islands.

They also announced a new species of crab spider found on Foster Island in Seattle. Just google Burke Museum - new indian paint brush or crab spider if your interested. barb

As expected it appears the specific epithet is spelled victoriae, with a feminine ending.
