Hi again, I was just given a beautiful phalaenopsis orchid from my great BF. Unfortunately, as it was not purchased from a nursery I don't think it was cared for well...and 3 of the developing buds have wilted before opening. Is the moss it is planted in was saturated in water, and the plastic pot was wrapped in a fancy plastic buy the store i suspected root rot, had a look, and was right. My plan of action is to carefully pull the orchid out of its pot and cut away the rotting roots. My question is...do i leave it in its current pot with the moss, and hope it dries out enough before loosing the whole root structure. OR should i take the risk and repot the orchid in a proper orchid pot and some new orchid bark mix? Basically im worried that if i risk repotting during a beautiful bloom will I loose the blooms for sure?

Repot. Losing a bloom is better than losing the plant!

Repot, save the plant. Many more flowers in the future. Also buy another blooming orchid to make you feel better :)
