Hello. I'm a new member of the forum. My first post. Moved to Seattle a few years back and was luck enough to have a nice Japanese maple planted in the yard. My enjoyment of it has continued to grow and I've begun to expand my collection. I've added a Red Spider, Ukigumo, Shirazz and a Autumn Moon to my collection.

I'm writing to ask for help with identification of the tree that I didn't buy. Please see the attached photos. The photos showing more green/bronze color and were taken yesterday. The photos with deeper purple leaves are from the spring.

Thank you in advance. Looking forward to learning more.

There may be some similarity to 'Trompenburg'. But try looking in person for matching, labeled plants at independent garden centers with large annual assortments of Japanese maples - you may soon encounter a name that way. Keeping in mind that the fullest representation would be aimed at the spring sales period.

@Southernwayfarer, good evening J and welcome to the maples forum.
I agree with Ron that the similarities to Trompenburg are quite definitely there. Convexed leaves are typical of this cultivar.
I have posted a leaf of mine for you to compare.

Thanks, @Ron B and @Acerholic. Trompenburg does seem likely. Interesting to learn about characteristic convexed/downward curled leaf for this cultivar! Best, Jason
