    Hi!
I'm so glad I found this board!! I haven't had a garden for about ohhh.. 12 or so years! (I'm 28) The last time we had a garden, there was a previous garden so we had to till then plant. Everything grew perfectly except Eggplant!!

I am now planning on raised planter boxes for my veggies. We are unsure of the soil below because my husband had several cars and equipment type items on it for years. The yard is big enough, the sun exposure is perfect. So just to play it safe, we are doing raised planters with crushed rock below, top soil and I'll need to find compost. (I'm assuming I can go to a nursery for that)

We almost bought treated wood, but the board told me NOT to go with that! We are lucky to have maybe enough of those cement foundation blocks laying around collecting 'dust' so I think that'll be our best bet.

I wanted to buy tomato plants partially grown, probably 6- 12 inches high no green tomatos on it yet. I also wanted to grow corn, squash, zucchini, peppers, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers and maybe even try Eggplant again!

I know this is a bit late to start planting but hey.. Why not give it a try! Any advice for me??

    Thanks,
    Dee

OH! Just a note: Just found out from my husband that our 'Dump' has it's own FREE compost pile for gardeners! I'm VERY happy about that.
