I have raised vegetable beds and tomatoes in pots on the south side of my Seattle house for the first time. In general everything is going very well. I'm having a little trouble with immature zucchinis rotting from the flower end (I think that's from lack of pollination) and a lot of trouble with blossoms falling off my tomatoes. We put in a drip irrigation system at the start, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm leaving it on for too long. We've been doing 2 hours every other morning, but today I noticed that after 1 hour water was starting to seep from the bottom of the tomato pots. Is this just a problem of pots? Next year we're going to build beds for the tomatoes.
