Last fall I bought a new cranesbill geranium, "Stephanie", out of bloom. It was apparently recently discovered at the Royal Botanical Garden in Edinburgh. Mine differs in two ways from what the tag says, and from everything I've found thus far in internet searches.

First, it is supposed to be a "dwarf", up to 12-16" tall and compact. Mine, planted close to a tall dicentra, is well over 2 feet high and without the dicentra to prop it up, would just flop. Nothing compact about it!

Second, the blooms have just opened, and I am delightfully surprised. They are the correct shade, a soft lavender blue, but instead of having dark veins, as in all the photos and descriptions I've seen, the veins are white. They are SO beautiful!

Has anyone else found such a "Stephanie"?

One I know that looks like this is Geranium pratense 'Mrs. Kendall Clark'.

Thank you! This is it. I guess it was mislabeled. Oh well, I love it anyway.
