Odour - a client has reported an odour associated with the fronds of this fern. The odour persists after repotting and is not in the potting soil. The odour has been reported as smelling like cat "poop". Has anyone had any experience with this or are you able to direct me to a source for research on this matter? I don't see anything on the internet. Thank you.

Did the client apply any foliar fertilizer, or bug spray? Odor from this might persist.
    Does this plant produce spores?
I assume that the plant ID is a certain one, and that no cats were (or are) in the vicinity.

No sprays, no animals. New potting soil. Odour persists when plant repotted and client identifies odour coming off fronds - not soil. No pesticides.
